Identification Requirements policy

FINGERPRINTING ID Requirements:

At Trusted Identity Partners, the safety and integrity of the fingerprinting process is our top priority. A valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID is required for all fingerprinting services.

Accepted forms of ID include (but are not limited to):

  • Driver’s license

  • State ID card

  • Passport

  • Military ID

  • Permanent resident card

We are unable to accept Photos, Photocopies, or Printouts of IDs.

We are legally and ethically required to verify the identity of every person we fingerprint. This ensures that fingerprint-based background checks and clearance cards are only issued to individuals who can be confidently identified. By verifying ID, we help maintain the integrity of background screenings and do our part to protect workplaces, vulnerable populations, and the community at large.

Notary ID Requirements:

At Trusted Identity Partners, we take the integrity of notarized documents seriously. To comply with Arizona notary laws and to protect against fraud, every signer must present valid, acceptable identification before a notarization can be performed.

Acceptable Forms of ID:

A valid ID must be:

  • Issued by a federal, state, or tribal government

  • Current (not expired)

  • Include a photograph, signature, and physical description

Commonly accepted IDs include:

  • Arizona driver’s license or ID card

  • U.S. passport or passport card

  • Other U.S. state-issued driver’s licenses or ID cards

  • Military ID

  • Permanent Resident Card

  • Tribal ID

Unacceptable Forms of ID:

The following are not accepted for notarization purposes:

  • Social Security cards

  • Birth certificates

  • Credit or debit cards

  • Work or school IDs (unless issued by a government agency)

  • Expired IDs

What If I Don’t Have ID?

If the signer does not have acceptable ID, credible witness procedures may be used in some situations. This involves one or two impartial individuals with valid ID who personally know the signer and can vouch for their identity. Please contact us before your appointment to discuss this option.

Additional Notes for Notary Services:

  • All signers must appear in person before the notary.

  • Signers must be mentally aware and willing to sign.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service if ID requirements are not met.
