TIP’s Tip of the month - February 2026

Bring the Right ID the First Time

One of the most common reasons appointments get delayed or need to be rescheduled is missing or incorrect identification. Whether you are coming in for fingerprinting, a background check, or notary services, having the right ID the first time saves you time and frustration.

At Trusted Identity Partners, we want your visit to be quick, professional, and stress free. That starts with making sure you arrive prepared.

For most fingerprinting and identity verification services, a valid government issued photo ID is required. This typically includes a state issued driver license, a state identification card, or a passport. The ID must be current, not expired, and the name should match the information used to schedule your appointment.

Some agencies and licensing boards have very specific requirements and may require two forms of identification or a specific type of ID. If your paperwork or instructions mention additional ID requirements, it is important to bring exactly what is listed.

If you are unsure which identification you need, we strongly recommend checking your paperwork ahead of time or reaching out to us before your appointment. A quick question can save you a second trip.

Bringing the right ID the first time helps keep your appointment on schedule and ensures we can complete your service without delays. A little preparation goes a long way.
